Don’t see your preferred cell manufacturer? We work with a wide range of cell manufacturers and can design custom battery packs using alternative cells to suit your application’s requirements.

Contact us today to start a conversation with our experts about your custom battery pack project. We’ll work closely with you to define the project specifications, ensuring that your solution is not only tailored to your needs but also sustainable – designed with the environment in mind for long-term impact.

Using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, we will create a visual representation of your battery pack, based on your specifications.

One-off prototypes or short runs can be manufactured quickly to evaluate the packs impact in a real-world environment. We use the latest 3D printing technology to develop jigs to ensure constraints are met during production.

Offering flexible scales of production to fit your projects timescale, the production schedule can include short-runs, long-runs and call-off orders.

Being ISO 9001:2015 certified ensures our battery packs are consistently manufactured to high standards and rigorously tested to surpass your expectations.

Our partnership continues throughout your projects’ lifetime with full technical support.
Find answers to some of the most common questions about our custom battery pack design and manufacturing service. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, our team is always happy to help, simply get in touch to discuss your project.
There is no minimum order quantity for battery packs where we already have a suitable design and the required cells are held in stock.
For new battery pack designs using one of our core stocked cells, our standard minimum order quantity is 10 battery packs. If your project requires specialist or non-stocked cells, the minimum order quantity will depend on the manufacturer’s minimum purchase quantity for those cells.
Yes. In fact, we recommend it.
Before committing to full production, we advise manufacturing a small prototype batch. This allows both our team and yours to test the battery pack in its intended application, identify any improvements, and ensure the design performs exactly as expected before moving into larger production runs.
Absolutely. Whether you have a hand-drawn sketch, a CAD model or a detailed engineering drawing, we’ll use any information you can provide to create an accurate 3D CAD design.
If you don’t have any drawings, that’s not a problem. Our engineers can design the optimum battery pack based on your application’s electrical and mechanical requirements.
Yes. We are happy to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) before discussing your project, helping to ensure your intellectual property and confidential information remain protected throughout the design and manufacturing process.
The more information you can provide, the better, but you don’t need to have everything worked out before getting in touch.
Ideally, we’ll need details such as:
Required operating voltage
Available space for the battery pack
Desired operating or run time
Any known current or power requirements
Information about the application and operating environment
If you’re unsure about any of these details, our engineers will work with you to determine the most suitable battery solution for your project.
Our standard manufacturing lead time is typically around four weeks, although this can vary depending on component availability and the complexity of the battery pack.
If your project has a specific deadline, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule where possible.
Yes. We regularly redesign and improve existing battery packs to enhance performance, replace obsolete components or better suit a customer’s application.
Projects are subject to the minimum order quantities outlined above, depending on the cells required.
Yes. If your existing battery pack is no longer available, we can often design a direct replacement.
As long as we’re able to identify the original battery’s components and performance requirements, we’ll work with you to develop a suitable replacement. As with any custom project, minimum order quantities will depend on the design and the cells required.
Yes. Our custom battery packs are designed and manufactured at our facility in the North East of England. By manufacturing in the UK, we’re able to maintain high-quality standards, provide greater flexibility throughout your project, and offer faster communication and support than many overseas suppliers.
We design and manufacture battery packs using a wide range of battery chemistries, including:
Lithium Thionyl Chloride (Li-SOCl₂)
Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH)
Nickel Cadmium (NiCd)
Sealed Lead Acid (SLA)
Primary Lithium Chemistries
Rechargeable Lithium Chemistries (Li-ion, LiFePO4, Li-Po)
If you’re unsure which chemistry is best suited to your application, our engineers can recommend the most appropriate option based on your performance, size and lifespan requirements.
Absolutely. Choosing the correct battery chemistry is one of the most important parts of designing a battery pack.
Our engineers will consider factors such as operating voltage, current requirements, expected runtime, charging requirements, operating temperature, product lifespan and budget before recommending the most suitable solution. We’ll explain the advantages and trade-offs of each option so you can make an informed decision.
Yes. We can design battery packs to meet the relevant standards and certification requirements for your application.
Whether your product requires specific transport compliance, protection circuitry, testing or industry-specific requirements, we’ll discuss these during the design stage to ensure they’re considered from the outset.
Yes. We see ourselves as a long-term manufacturing partner rather than simply a supplier.
Whether you need design revisions, ongoing technical support, additional production runs or assistance with component changes, our team is on hand to support your battery pack throughout its lifecycle.
Yes. We support customers from initial prototypes and small production batches through to ongoing high-volume manufacture.
As your product grows, we can scale production to meet demand while maintaining consistent quality and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
Every battery pack is different, so pricing depends on factors such as the battery chemistry, capacity, protection circuitry, tooling requirements, production quantity and the components used.
Once we understand your requirements, we’ll provide a quotation for your battery pack at the earliest opportunity. In the early stages of a project, this may be an estimated price, which can change as the design develops and specifications are finalised. If any changes to the quoted price become necessary, we’ll clearly communicate them with you and obtain your approval before proceeding.
For more complex projects, a competitive Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) fee may apply to cover design and development work. If this is required, it will always be discussed and agreed with you in advance, with no unexpected charges.
