The Cell Pack Team are taking on Cancer Research UK’s Relay For Life at Monkton Stadium, Jarrow on the 14th July 2018.

We are all coming together to raise money and show that Cancer never sleeps as we walk, run and dance around the track for 22 hours. There are more than 360,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, that’s nearly 990 every day – one new diagnosis ever 2 minutes!’ With statistics like these, its not surprise Cancer affects so many of us.

As some of you will know, our MD, Eddie, was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer recently. He is currently undergoing his second round of Chemotherapy, with an ever-present positive attitude. He has set the relay as a goal for himself and something to look forward to. At the time of the relay he should have finished 8 weeks of Chemotherapy and preparing himself for a Gastrectomy. We are all inspired by how he continues to be the strong positive personality behind Cell Pack Solutions and look forward to joining him and everyone else on the track.

While some of our team are on the track the rest will be manning a stall. We will be raising money through raffling off donations from our kind suppliers and selling other goods.  Our goal was to raise £1000. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the team we are already close to hitting our target, which is fantastic! But this has only encouraged us to raise even more!

Why Next Stop Santiago?

Our team name is derived from Eddie’s personal goal of walking the last 100km stretch of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage next year, which comes to an end at the reputed “Edge of the World”. Having  been to Mount Kala Patthar (5,643m) in the Himalayas, the top of his world, why not the edge of the world next!

To quote Eddie:

“We all need targets to look forward to, accepting the fact we can only take one day at a time whilst undergoing the treatment , what impresses me most is how my company colleagues , friends and family are joining in. These thoughts are keeping me going through the difficult days”

More than anything, we hope that you will come and spend an hour or so with us at the event, maybe even sharing a few laps with us along the way.If you want to donate to our team we would be very grateful. Every penny raised from the event will help us to beat Cancer that much sooner.
