Invest South Tyneside Tech Challenge 2017

Cell Pack Solutions are excited to be involved in Invest South Tyneside’s Tech Challenge 2017.

The purpose of this competition is to discover the region’s most innovative digital solutions and this year it is focused on the Manufacturing industry, so we were keen to get involved.

Together with Nissan and Dyer Engineering, we have each presented a couple of challenges that our businesses face. Entrants are then invited to present a pitch to a panel of judges, with their digital solutions to the challenges listed.

The winner of Tech Challenge will receive some fantastic prizes, including £5000 cash + 12 months free office space in the modern One Trinity Green building. A full list of prizes is available on their website.

Our personal challenges are listed here:

1. We now have over 2000 unique designs spread over 100s of customers based over 15 years of activities. Projects can take from days to weeks to months or sometimes even years to come to fruition. Different projects are looked after by different members of the team. As the team grows and the number of projects grow it takes a big effort to manage all the projects and to retain all of the critical information and to keep everyone up to speed with all projects.
2. Benchmarking productivity is an issue we are looking to improve so that we can measure individual operator performance, so that we can then improve overall efficiency and also be able to feed these timings in to the costing process better.
