We’re excited to announce that Cell Pack Solutions have won Insider’s Made in the North East Export Award 2022. It’s the award series 10th year of recognising products, ideas and processes from manufacturers across the North East of England. A place we are proud to call our home.

Our nomination was for the export of our Tracer Power Lithium Batteries to international markets. We faced stiff competition in the form of experienced exporters JDR Cable Systems and Absolute Antibody, who have previously received the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade and would go on to win the Manufacturing Innovation Award on the night.

We went into the prestigious award ceremony at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, on the evening of March 24th, with low expectations. Taking the nomination as a huge success at this early stage of our export journey. But were left shocked to be named winners on the night.

From a “Standing Start”

Special recognition was given for the success of exporting dangerous goods from a “standing start”. Shipping 15% of our products to overseas markets in our first year of acquiring Tracer Power. A number that is forecasted to rise to 25% in the coming year.

Despite a pandemic, Brexit fallout and the global shipping container crisis, the first year of exporting has been a huge success. The team have overcome these obstacles and successfully shipped to 30 new countries worldwide and deserve all of the credit. As with everything, there were some minor hiccups on the journey; Consignments would sometimes be held up for security scans for weeks on end, only to reappear at ours or the customers premises. A special thanks must go to our customers who have patiently waited while these minor issues have been resolved.

Our export Journey is still in the early stages and exciting times certainly lie ahead. We look forward to getting to know our customers around the world even better through visiting them and hopefully showing some, just how great of a place the North East of England is.
