In 2026, Cell Pack Solutions reached an important milestone: 25 years as a limited company.
From our early days operating from a small office at Jarrow Business Centre, with makeshift production lines set up along corridors after neighbouring businesses had gone home, we’ve grown into an established UK manufacturer of custom battery packs and portable power solutions.
But while the technology, facilities and projects have changed considerably over the past 25 years, one thing has remained at the heart of Cell Pack Solutions: Our people.
So, rather than simply marking the occasion with a cake and a few speeches, we decided to bring our team, their families, our suppliers and some of the people and organisations who have supported us over the years together for a proper celebration at our South Tyneside premises.
The celebration was all about spending time together away from the usual working day.
Our team were joined by their children, giving families the opportunity to see where their parents work and meet the people they hear about at home. We fired up the pizza ovens and enjoyed plenty of homemade pizzas, with the factory transformed into a very different kind of workplace for the day.
We were also delighted to welcome some of our suppliers and representatives from South Tyneside Council, whose support has played an important role throughout our journey.
And then came the surprise.
We were joined by BackChat Brass, who brought something rather different to our premises – a brass band masterclass.
The team were handed trumpets and trombones and challenged to learn a song together. With a little help from the professionals, we worked towards a performance of ‘Lean on Me’.
It’s fair to say that battery packs are much more familiar territory for most of us than brass instruments!
But after some practice, plenty of enthusiasm and a few questionable notes along the way, the team came together to perform the song.
It was a brilliant way to celebrate what 25 years at Cell Pack Solutions is really about – working together, supporting one another and achieving something that none of us could do alone.
Our journey over the past 25 years has taken us a long way from those early makeshift production lines.
Today, we design, develop and manufacture custom battery packs and supply high-performance batteries and portable power solutions to customers across a wide range of industries.
Our Tracer Power range has also grown significantly, providing portable power for applications ranging from security and monitoring to construction, healthcare, media and the arts.
Along the way, we’ve continued to invest in our people, facilities and capabilities, while remaining firmly rooted in South Tyneside.
And we’ve been fortunate to have the support of many customers, suppliers and local organisations who have been part of that journey.
A 25th anniversary gives us a chance to look back and appreciate just how far Cell Pack Solutions has come, but it’s also a chance to look ahead to what comes next.
The battery industry continues to evolve rapidly, bringing new technologies, applications and opportunities. We’re excited about the future and remain committed to developing innovative power solutions for our customers, while continuing to build on the foundations that have brought us this far – our people, our customers, our suppliers and our strong connection to the local community.
Our 25th anniversary celebration was a great reminder that, behind every battery pack we make and every customer we support, there are people who make it all possible.
We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the day so special – our employees and their families, our suppliers, South Tyneside Council and Back Chat Brass, who somehow managed to turn a group of battery specialists into a brass band!
A special thank you also goes to Aaron, Max and James, who put in the time (and plenty of dough!) to make all of the homemade pizzas, keeping everyone well fed throughout the day.
And we can’t forget Gail, Kelty, James and Steph, who put in hours of hard graft transforming our garden. They gave it the TLC it deserves, created new spaces and made it look better than it ever has. It was back-breaking work at times, but they got stuck in and did it all with a smile on their faces.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has been part of the Cell Pack Solutions story over the past 25 years. Whether you’re a member of our team, a customer, supplier, partner or someone who has supported us along the way, we genuinely couldn’t have reached this milestone without you.
