The Cell Pack Solutions CPS401 is a rechargeable NiMH battery that is used to power the ignition valve in gas fires, so that they can be remotely activated.
NiMH batteries are designed to be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but in an application such as this you tend to find that it is the age of the battery that will cause it to fail more than the number of charge / discharge cycles it performs. Typically these batteries last between 5 and 10 years.
The batteries can be 1.8Ah, 2Ah or even 2.2 Ah – this relates to the capacity and they are all interchangeable. We currently are offering the 2.2Ah variety which offers the longest run time between charges.
Please note that the handset remote also uses a PP3 (9V) battery, which should also be changed occasionally.
